Getting creative

I've been making/D.I.Y-ing lately, and I thought it would be a pleasure to show you what I've done.

As you could see on the left, I've made myself a pair of shorts. I made a big mistake though, and made them out of cotton (It isn't the first time.) Do you know what happens when you sit in shorts made out of cotton? They turn to the dark side and wrinkle, and by the time you know it you're wearing a scrunched up piece of paper! I just couldn't take it, I loved the thought of plaid shorts. You probably can't see, but because I don't own a pair of Cat Tattoo Tights I thought I'd get creative and make my own. (AKA: Drawing cat faces on my knees)
I've also made:
- A troll doll badge.
- A sparkly detachable collar.
- Sparkly glasses.
- A crown (This one's my favourite.)
- A dress for Cherokee.

You may notice I have presented my pictures differently. I thought it would add some PIZZAZ to surround them with daisies, stickers and Cupies. I hope you like the new look.

Market thrifting

The best thing about the holidays is all of the markets you get a chance to shop at in fact, I went market thrifting today. I wore this Weetzie Bat dress (which I finally chopped and hemmed), D.I.Y stockings and my handmade baby crown.

What I wore:
Baby crown: Handmade by mwah.
Ice cream necklace: Thrifted. Mum says it looks like a Yazbukey.
Weetzie Bat dress: Thrifted, chopped and hemmed.
Bracelets and faery ring: Hand-me-downs from mum.
Pink bedazzled stockings: D.I.Y idea from Rookie.
Docs: Thrifted.

As I was searching through the isles full of market junk, I heard something...It sounded like an angel calling my name, " Eeeeeedieeee, Eeeeeeedieeeeee, look ahead of you." I did and ran for this amazing bag, which I practically begged for. I asked how much it was and the man told me he liked my outfit and wished more people dressed up, and with that he gave it to me for $10.
I was absolutely G.O.B.S.M.A.C.K.E.D this bag was only $10, so as soon as I got home I made a shrine around it of all of the thrifted goodies I found today. Cherokee is only in there to look fabulous :)

What I Found:
- Mickey Mouse tie.
-Porcelain Elephant.
-Three sticker books (Barbie, Hello Kitty and Disney princesses.)
-Pretty Dead, by Francesca Lia Block.
-Ballerina jewellery box.

I also found this awesome Marilyn poster for only $2. It goes to show I was destined for Market Thrifting. Hahaha :)

Pom Poms and lace.

Yippee, another outfit post! I have been thinking day in, day out about how to present my outfits. So for inspiration I look at blogs, and I have noticed that most people take outfit photo's in their room. Yes, I do admire and crave for Marlena's green wall, but I fill my walls with posters of awesomeness instead.

Cherokee, hanging out with all my junk.

Oh Edie, (Sedgwick, Haha) how I love you on my wall.

What I wore:
Pom Poms: Handmade.
Glasses necklace: Diva.
Lace dress: Thrifted.
Black tights: Target.
Docs ( I couldn't find a decent photo of them in it): Thrifted.

Lined paper madness.

Sometimes when you get bored, there is nothing else to do but sketch on some lined paper that's lying around. I started drawing one of those doe-eyed girls that I came up with in my last post. I decided to go one step further and colour her in with some pencils. I really don't know what it is, but I actually like how it looks on the lined paper.

I still got bored though, I started experimenting with the eyes again and got this. Do you like her strawberry jumper?

It still isn't what I was going for. So I gave it a night, thinking of something that could catch my eye.

When I shut my eyes that night, images came into my head. Big eyes of course, but spread apart on her wide cheeks. She would also have stubby legs and small lips. I was getting excited so the first thing I did the next morning was sketch my character down on lined paper ( that's sort of a thing now I guess.)
I present to you Strawberry Bubblegum!

I love it! I've never seen such a character, her body isn't too small and her head isn't too big. PERFECTION!! Except for this next girl >.<

She doesn't look too happy about it either. Oops, but I do like her outfit. Anyways, to the next girl. She is a Hip Hippie. Peace.

I started losing idea's, What should she wear? What should her hairstyle be? But wait, where do you go to when you need inspiration? Pinterest! So I go to my fashion board, and decide to sketch an exact replica of these fashionable fabs. In my own style of course :)

I'm sorry the last picture is really small. I love them!

Cherokee photography

I've been using an iphone app called Afterlight. The effects on it are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G, Cherokee seems to like how they make her look like she should be in a Blythe book.

I made Cherokee a new fluffy purple dress. Do you like it?

Meadham Kirchhoff

At the moment I am so very in love with Meadham Kirchhoff's clothing. The textures, the colours, the layers and layers of WOW! Meadham Kirchhoff is so magical, I feel like I have found a mystical creature. I should shut up now, and let the pictures speak for themselves.

I saved my three favourites for last.
